As you know, we are using the Second Step program in your child’s classroom. The Second Step program teaches children important skills for getting along with others and doing well in school. It also helps our school be a safe and supportive place where everyone can learn.

To help make our school even more safe and supportive, we are also going to use the Second Step Child Protection Unit.

In these units, your students learn skills for staying safe. We invite all families to preview these lessons online in advance through the Second Step website by going to www.secondstep.org, creating an account, and then using one of the Kit Activation codes at the bottom of this message to view the materials.

The physical copies of the manuals are also in our front office for you to browse. Kindergarten and First Grade will be teaching these lessons the week of March 30th, and Second Grade will be teaching these lessons the week of April 13th. Please contact your child's teacher with any questions.
