Welcome to Rochester Primary School, home of the Warriors! I look forward to working with you and your children. RPS has a talented staff that provides the best possible education for our students.
The hard work and dedication of the staff at RPS is admirable. RPS staff goes above and beyond to assure that each and every student has their needs met. We have solid reading, writing, listening, speaking, math, science, social studies, arts and physical education programs. At RPS, we have fully implemented an intervention program in reading. We use a combination of math games and online instruction individualized to each student’s need to intervene in math. Teachers meet regularly in professional learning communities during ACT time each Friday. We focus on using the most effective instructional strategies to support our students in their learning. Our staff holds high expectations for learning for all of our students at RPS, and we maintain the belief that all of our students are fully capable learners.
In addition to the academic growth of our students, we have a strong social skills program. Primary school is often the introduction to working in a large group setting. We recognize this and our counselor has put together a social skills program that all students participate in. The topics range from how to invite yourself to join a group playing to how to respond when someone speaks unkindly to you.
If you are able to be a part of the educational experience here at RPS, please come in to the office and sign up to volunteer. We have a variety of short term and long term roles that you may fulfill.
